Don't Mock Me

How many times has it been for you to be mocked at your mental health or for the people to understand you and then find a certain time in a day and throw it back at your face? Many right?

Well all I can say is that I understand you and that I feel you, for whoever you might be.

Mental health is as important as physical health and it should never be neglected. There should be no distinction in diseases. Why give so much importance to physical illnesses and not mental? Why the need to hide a mental illness and not physical illness is the question I ask myself all the time. Is it because the society will not accept us for who we are. Well let me tell you this, when did the society ever accepted us? That’s right they never did and never will so very easily.

It is pretty stressful to explain to others what you’re going through when you can’t understand it yourself. Mental health is a sensitive subject and isn’t talked much among the people due to shame and disgrace but it shouldn’t be like this. We all need to step up for ourselves. Yes! It’s easier said than done but there is no other way. We all are fighting a battle harder than each other , that’s how life is filled with both good and bad and we need to get up for ourselves and more than showing others , show ourselves that we are not just someone extra at the back of a stage performance but are a hero of our own kind.

Be the reason for your own happiness do not depend on anyone in particular to make you happy. Happiness comes from within and a lot of our happiness is turned into sadness because we keep overthinking and this element of overthinking consumes half of our happiness so we should try our best to overcome it, besides we don’t get even the complete happiness in our lives then why even waste that small part of it in overthinking.

Talking and sharing your feelings with someone you deeply trust can also reduce your stress. Have that one person in your life with whom you can share all your problems who not only listens to you but understands you from the bottom of their heart. The next step for reducing your overthinking is to do the “self-talk” every once in a while because no one can understand you better than yourself. Talk out loud with yourself or write it all down no matter what it may be just take a step towards it and I’m sure it’ll make you feel a lot better and lighter. This will also help you in discovering yourself.

When after discovering your hidden self you come to the next step of knowing all the things that make you happy and then you start to gradually adopt them which is the second step to finding your happiness by yourself.

Acceptance is the key to your own happiness. Accept for who you are. Embrace yourself and only then can you go through the stages to being the reason for your own happiness and only then will the society accept you as they will see for what kind of person you’ve become.

Always remember you’re not your illness. You have an individual story to tell. You have a name, a history, a personality. Staying yourself is the part of the battle.
